I watched it finally. I'd seen it around and thought, I don't know, maybe it will be interesting but maybe it will suck.

Picked it up on Redbox while I was out of town and saw it at a friends house on a big screen projector. It was kind of interesting, and it kind of sucked.
The cinematography was interesting. Lots of blacks and whites, kind of a bleached out look to a lot of the footage, great close ups, and overall interesting cinematography, nice camera moves, angles, and so forth. I also like the sound track. It was instrumental for the most part and just kind of moody and atmospheric. I also liked the performances from the actors.
The story was, well it didn't have plot holes and it remained pretty consistent, but the main premise was just something I couldn't quite buy into and suspend my disbelief. I'm a big sci fi fan, but this one didn't work even for me.
SPOILER AlERT (But not really)
The premise which you find out very quickly is that people are so enamored with celebrities that they will buy celebrity viruses. LIke if a celebrity has pneumonia, people will buy that exact strain of pneumonia that's been extracted from that celebrity and cloned.
I got it, that it was commentary on the nature of celebrity culture and how we place to much importance on celebs, but is everyone going to rush out and buy pneumonia because it came from Angelina Jolie or something? I'm thinking ok a few weirdos might, but generally no.
I give it like a C+, still fun to watch and interesting visuals and sound track, but not an entirely engaging story.
