Ant-Man, not really a review

Man they 3 deed the **** out of this movie. I did see it at a different cinema to my usual that had different glasses so I'ld like to know if the opening scene looked a bit off to anyone else.

Also there's two secret bits in the end credits, the last one is at the very end of the credits after logos.

3/5 but maybe that score reflects the fact I've never read (or heard of) Ant-Man before.
 
I enjoyed it. Nothing groundbreaking, but it was a nice change of pace from the typical Marvel movies. I enjoyed the 3rd act a lot. The movie was better than what I thought.

The second end credit scene was great!
 
I thought a lot of this movie was kind of lame. The first 45 minutes were very pedestrian and bogged down with too much dreary set up. I was thoroughly bored. I didn't buy Paul Rudd as any kind of criminal (even a 'good guy' criminal) and felt like they could have set everything up in about half the time. All the actual Ant-Man stuff was fun and different and since the last third of the film is mostly that, it ended fairly strong. But I also felt the villain's story was basically a retread of Iron Man I and pretty by the numbers. I did like some of the humour and Michael Pena steals every scene he's in, but on the whole I thought the film was pretty disposable.
 
The movie was enjoyable for me but I've seen Michael Pena act and here he was stereo-typed in the worst action movie kind of way. Yes they did borrow from Iron Man but I'm okay with that.

I didn't see it that way. He has fun with his comic performances. His performance in Observe & Report is comedy gold.
 
I'll check out Observe & Report. His performance just kind of reminded me of someone like Chris Tucker in Rush Hour (regardless I really like the movie) or Tom Arnold in True Lies (though Tom's performance wasn't as repetitive and he had a more rounded character to work with). Funny but one dimensional and forcefully funny versus genuinely funny. Perhaps it just was the pamphlet size character he had to work with and not him as an actor.
