Another Tape Deck Question.

I have a Sony HD deck.

I'm editing a 23 minute show, in SD.

Is it possible to take this SD footage, and print it onto Mini DV tape, using the HD deck?

What model deck is it? AFAIK all Sony HDV decks are HDV/DV switchable. You just need to go into the menu and make the appropriate changes.

Robbie, I think we've got the same deck - 15mvru or something like that? If so I've done it through premiere with that deck to both HDV and DV over firewire. I would assume it would work just the same in FCP.

Not sure which model, but it has the DV, HDV, and AUTO mode.

I tried printing in all modes. I Link off.

I really need to figure this out.

I can go to HD, just the SD will not work.

It will say its recording (red circle) on the HDV deck screen, and then when I go to play it back and test it, the rewinding sound of the tape doesn't sound normal, and the video isn't there.

Have you tried it with the deck locked into DV mode? I know mine is really finicky in AUTO mode.
