okay, here is the deal..

the other day i ran into a former co-worker and she told me she was interested in hiring me to put together a video to show at her mother's birthday party. basically something along the lines of taping family members share stories about the mother. i'd also put together a funny outtakes segment.

i have no idea how serious she is about doing this and have no idea what to charge. i imagine the taping would probably last 1-2 hours. any suggestions?
 
I would say between $500-700. For 2 hours worth of work and another few hours for editing; that seems fair to me. But I always undercharge.

If you're cool with her, you could show her some love on the price. But that's about what I would charge.

I did something similar last year where they had a short script re enacting parts of her life with the grandkids and I charged them $300 only because It was my friend's grandmother.
