Ok sorry guy's another "how to" and another "how to bad tv effect"!!!

I've searched the web and found some tutorials on how to create this effect, but i can't create this particular effect in the link video, the effect is at 39sec and 1.04.

i understand that there's a filter with FCP 6? but i'm using 4.5 which doesn't have this particular effect, I can get a 'replicate' type effect but I'm after the horizontal scramble style effect.....

Much appreciated for any help
 
Are you talking about that "squiggly" looking effect where the clip looks curvy? They use it so fast in that video that it doesn't look like its curvy though. You can do that in FCP but I can't remember where it is. I did something like that in a video I produced a while back. Whatever effect I used, I changed the parameters to make the clip really curvy and it went well with the music I was using.

Actually I may have used a FILTER and customized it or perhaps it was a transition! I can't remember.

Here is the video where I used a similiar effect. Like I mentioned, I used some effect within FCP then I tweaked it to give it more of a curvy feel. Go to 2:28 and then again at 2:33 to see what I am talking about.

Yeah Its a kind of more extreme version.

I basically trying to create an effect of a tv when someone walks past the ariel and interferes with the tuning.....Theres allot of bad tv filters out there but Im not trying to create static just interference lines....Kinda like a magnet was put on the side of the tv?!!!

Make sense?!!
 
You should see if there are any filters or effects in MOTION that can do that. I am sure there is. I know you can make it happen with After Effects!
