I just found this thread. That is beautifully made and I really like your design concept. I haven't seen anymore updates on it since. I have one suggestion until you can make version 2 out of all aluminum. That is to make the pivot area out of aluminum before you mount any kind of heavy expensive camera on it. All the stresses are going through that area and it won't take much for it to fail. You mentioned that the unit is not as smooth as you hoped it would be. Did you use teflon lined cables for your controls? You seem to know what your doing on the engineering and design side, it really is a remarkable jib and I hope to hear some more updates on it.
