Another Audio Question

With various Video and audio tracks, if you have a audio clip thats, lets say 30sec long, why does the blue gain line stretch across that clip to the next? Whats the best ways to adjust each seperate clip?

You're probably adding the gain envelope to the whole track and not just the clip.
