Apple Computer is once again gathering the press together as it rolls out new innovations. The latest invitation-only event will be held in New York City on October 19, 2005 on the eve of PhotoPlus Expo. Apple doesn’t say exactly what the press conference will be about, but the invitation sent to MacCentral asks to join them as “we unveil Apple’s latest pro innovations.”

This will be the third special product focused event that Apple has held in just over a month. On September 7, Apple launched the iPod nano and just this week they unveiled the video iPod and new iMac.

I bet the announcement is....

you can use an ipod video to record uncompressed HD :)

I feel it man, come on Steve give us the Manna...

Yeah right... cmon, they've abandoned the pro market that got them where they are today in favor of their new iCorporate model.

We can wish though, right?

So true! FCP/DVD has been so bad for so long that I'm thinking about switching careers to become a designer! And, to think, I used to enjoy editing!

Why does the DV25 codec introduce a 2.2 gamma correction, making my Quicktime files worthless to another editor on another platform?

Why can't I have a DV25 codec with the option for 4:1:1 color smoothing? (you know, like Avid and Matrox!) Why should have to render this as an "effect" ?

edit: apparently i could use the Avid FreeDV codec in FCP and have built-in color smoothing and lows desaturation. cool! no more rendering on those!

Wow, it really seems like new powermacs, but, honestly, do they need a special event for that? I think they are pushing it.

Maybe G6s with dual, dual core Intel's running at 5GHz, that would be a special announcement!

Maybe flying pigs too

I'm thinking I just kissed that nice feeling when I looked at my bank statement yesterday goodbye.

Then again, I can say hello to the nice feeling I get from quad 2.5 running FCP like some crazy dream.
