Animation Software?

I'm looking for an inexpensive animation software with which I can display a map as a jpeg and show several moving routes on the map being displayed. Would want to label key points and events on the map. I would also like to incorporate this into a Final Cut Pro movie that I am working on. Anyone know what would work best for this at a reasonable cost?

After Effects is used for that kind of project all the time.

Thanks.... I was thinking about trying to use Hype. I have a copy of After Effects so I'll now get a chance to use it.

never heard of hype, but I know plenty people who use after effect.
