Animating talking babies

Hello,

I'm sure we have seen these e-trade commercials. I wonder if anyone knows how these are made:

I have a project coming up that requires animating babies mouths. I don't even know what type of artists to hire to get this done.

A lot of it consists simply of filming enthusastically babbling babies until they get bored, then spending many tedious hours trying to match up their mouth movements with the lines you need. Fiddling with playback speed during a shot will also sometimes help. That said, I suspect some shots were further manipulated, e.g. compositing lip movements from one shot on top of another while stretching the jaw to match.
