Animating layered PSDs

Trying to make the switch from FCP... one of the things I do a decent amount in current editing projects is create layered PSD graphics and then animate them using the "motion" controls in FCP. I figured with Premier being a brother to Photoshop, doing the same type of work or even more would not be a huge issue, but so far I've been unable to find an efficient way to accomplish this same thing.

When I import a layered PSD, each layer has a bounding box the size of the entire file or canvas, rather than the size of just that individual layer. This makes it very difficult (if not impossible) to select underlying layers and rotate/drag, etc. I know you can do these things manually by changing values in the effects controls window, but is there an easy/efficient way to do this by dragging/rotating in the program window?

This makes it way less efficient than FCP for me. Also, the fact that I have to manually add a fade/dissolve to both video and audio tracks separately is driving me crazy. And is there a way to snap to the beginning/end of a clip and/or move forward/backward in 1 second increments in the timeline? (Sorry for being OT so quickly!)

No. The playhead is set to move at 5 frame increments. You could make a feature request at the Adobe site.

I suggest giving the Help file a good read. There you will learn how PP works and the ways it does the things you want, which may simply be different that what you're used to.
