Animated Logo - What do you think?

Nice transition from the light to the "O" in the logo. Very clever. It's not a natural transtion, but it works.

There's a frame or two at the beginning when the light flickers. Is that on purpose? Other than that it looks great. As pookie said, the curtain isn't necessary, but since you have stage in your title maybe you can just get rid of the fly-over. Instead just fade up on a dark curtain, the light pops on, and the curtain is drawn back. The fly-over at the beginning is dramatic but overkill.

Not sure about music.

I have to agree that the red curtain isn't its strength. The rest works very well though.

I liked it.

I think you should lose the whole camera movement part at the beginning. And lose the red curtain too.

Maybe just start off with a light turning on in the center of the screen, then transition into the O... the rest looks good

I like the idea of the curtain -- but felt that, in the broader context of the animation, there was a bit too much going on. My only thought is that if you keep the curtain (which isn't a bad idea...) then use a darker, more realistic shade of red. The current one appears bright pink on my calibrated Powerbook display. I would prefer a similar shade to the one in Wes Andersons' film, "Rushmore" :

Very nice. Clever, I like the curtain effect, nice fabric movement, maybe dont fly the camera down during the beginning, but just show the projectionfirst then the curtain opening then the rest..

good job

maybe no music, just the rustling of the curtain...then a nice, loud swoosh type sound when the wipe from black to white occurs. also, it might be worth it to try starting the movement of the yellow circle from behind the camera, so that as it moves into the foreground the camera passes through the center...then you could get fancy and apply wind displacement to the curtains as the circle passes between them. might get to be too much though. it's true that the clean quality once the curtains are gone is very nice. perhaps shorten the curtain bit and\or stylize the look of the curtains (i.e. more flat\cell shade...). nice work!

Thanks for all of the great feedback so far.

First, when I said "we did this" it was actually the graphic artist in my group, Peter. I can't even draw stick figures.

It is. It should be accompanied by the sound of a movie projector turning on.

by the way, what program did you use to make it?
I don't know, but I will find out for you.

I liked the curtain because I felt like it "set the stage" and spoke to our origins as well as our name, but I certainly don't want it to be "too much". I do like the idea of making the curtain darker and more velvety (I love Rushmore).

Thanks again for the great suggestions,

Chris
