Angels & Demons

I actually thought this movie wasn't bad. I got exactly what I was expecting, although I wasn't expecting much after Da Vinci Code. As these kind of puzzle solving potboilers go it's one of the better ones. Angels and Demons was a better book than Da Vinci Code so it stands to reason that this would be the better movie. I'm still not entirely convinced Robert Langdon makes the most compelling movie protagonist. De-ciphering codes is more exciting on the page than it is on screen. But taken on its own terms it's a well made film, an interesting journey into the Vatican, and Tom Hanks doesn't have that stupid ass hair. Not a great film by any stretch but it held my interest, which considering I knew every plot twist coming since I read the book, is an achievement. My biggest complaint is one I had about the book, but I can't talk about it without completely ruining the mystery.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I agree with the above quote. I also had a major problem with the "science" presented in the book. I'm sure I'll see the movie soon, though.

Angels & Demons was a better book than Da Vinci Code?

Jesus, now I really don't want to read Da Vinci Code, because A&D was a pretty awful book...

Well if you read Angels & Demons, you don't have to read Da Vinci, because they are pretty much the same story, just swap around a few names. They are junky books, no doubt, but I like the way Stellan Skarsgard described them. "It's like eating peanuts at a bar. You don't like them, but you keep on eating them anyway."

This film was pretty bad compared to the first, the first was at least very full of suspense and keept you guessing, the other part that bothered me was the extensive use of greenscreen, some shots looks so fake that it is distracting, even my wife was like " damn that looks so fake" and she does not know squad about production, aside from the technical flaws in the film, the story is just not good,
just call it Angels and keying :)
