Don't want this to be political in any way shape form or fashion. I'm just curious about what people here think about people over 62-65 holding down a job.
I see my parents (60 and 63, respectively) being young, vibrant and eager to stay working. Both are self-employed, so there's no problem in it. But at least as far as I'm concerned, I don't see why anyone under the age of 70 should get a check in the mail. To me, people that need monetary assistance are the disabled and elderly. But, to me, under 70 just doesn't seem so elderly anymore.
My wife's father has been retired for 15 years, getting SS the entire time, he gets 100K from his 401K annually and is young and vibrant and globe-trotting. I know that's not everyone, but less and less I'm seeing 60-somethings looking run-down and raggety.
Again, please no politics. Just wondering what people here think about working into their 70s opposed to working into their 60s.
Personally I hope to be working until the day I die, because I always make sure that whatever work I'm doing that I enjoy it thoroughly (learned that from my parents).
