Anamorpht on a camcorder?

I apologise if this is the wrong section for this but hopefully I’ll get some helpful answers here.

I’m looking at getting a camcorder soon, mainly for the long lens and ease of shooting. I’m going to be running around being a mountain guide over the summer so don’t want to have to deal with lens changes etc. I’d love to take a C100 mk II with one of the long sigma superzooms or something but unfortunately don’t have that kind of money so have settled on a xa20, or maybe xf200 depending on how much money I have at the time.
I would however like something to make my footage appear more dreamy and due to the wide vistas I’ll often be shooting in I figured a anamorphic aspect ratio might be suitable, with the flares etc helping to give me that more dreamy look. I have no idea however how well an anamorphic lens, specifically the SLR magic anamorphot, would work on a small sensor camcorder and can find no information online regarding this, or any similar, pairing.
So, does anyone here think it’s viable and might be able to help me achieve the look I’m after, or for the look I want am I really stuck with having a larger sensor camera and either dealing with changing lenses or having a shorter zoom (I want to be able to snipe off headshots at a distance of around 15m or so, so could really do with a pretty long zoom).
Also does anamorphic even look at all decent once you get into tele focal lengths, or is it really designed for more “normally” framed shots.
Sorry if this is all very beginner stuff, but this is my first time seriously looking into anamorphic things, or small sensor camcorders come to that. I’ve always dismissed them in favour of my GH cameras.

It'd depend on the lens on the camcorder, best idea is to narrow down the cameras you're interested in, then e-mail SLR Magic support@slrmagic.com - You'd want the 1.33x for a camcorder as that will be in 16:9, you wouldn't be able to go wider than 20mm on the zoom without vignetting.
