I know there is a Panasonic Anamorphic adapter for the DVX but does anyone know if it is possible to get anamorphic images while using a 35mm adapter? Can anyone confirm an adapter that works with an anamorphic lens or the Panny anamorphic adapter (For the HVX)?
You can use cinema anamorphics but you're not going to get what you want; cinema anamorphics squeeze the image by a ratio of 2:1, so if used on an HVX you'd get a super-ridiculously-wide 3.56:1 aspect ratio.
It's easier, and probably better, to just shoot normal and letterbox in post.
