Anamorphic Widescreen

Just purchased the Ana adapter, doing some test footage, had lots of problems inporting the footage and so on, did a couple of searches and found my answer. My question, is it the standard to change the aspect ratio of each clip imported in the timeline in order to Output to 16:9? I'm using vegas 6.

I did everything correctly, I'm working in a 24p Widescreen timeline, but the clips I import don't automatically become widescreen, I have to change the aspect to each individually, is there a way to make the aspect of the whole timeline 1.2121 (NTSC DV Widescreen) automatic?

Thanks

hmmm... i've spent some time trying to find a quick solution to your problem but haven't succeeded. you could try putting the project properties aspect ratio on .9091 with a resolution of 800x450 (which is what i do) but i haven't messed with widscreen adapted footage yet. =(

let me know if you figure it out.

p.s. AMAZING WEBSITE

there are scripts which allow u to change the aspec tof all media in the media pool

thing with DVX100 is that it doesnt create a 16:9 tag, so your NLE WONT KNOW the aspect of the footage.

the project settings should be pal or ntsc standard DV widescreen (720x480 in ntsc land). there is no need to create custom resolutions for ur projects.

It's not that the DVX doesn't create a 16:9 tag; the 100A and 100B do with squeeze footage. It's that when you shoot with the anamorphic adapter, the DVX doesn't know you're using it, and it thinks the footage is just 4:3.
