anamorphic uprez cutting off bottom of frame

Alright this is killing me, I finally figured out how to get tiffs into a movie. But now when I import into final cut, change the pixels to ntsc and make it anamorphic, it still cuts off the image. It's really frustrating because if I have a still image with exactly the same settings I have no problem with it. When I scale to 100% the black bars disappear and the image fills the screen. But with the mov file it's uncentered, and the bottom of the image is gone. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

sequence settings: ntsc 16something pixel, DV NTSC anamorphic, 23.98 fps.
the movie was done with quicktime, the pictures used and the movie created by quicktime had the same exact settings. The pixel size was ntsc and set to anamorphic. The picture had no problem but the movie file was cut off.

the tiff size and the movie from the tiffs are the same size, 720x640. This is really annoying because I can import the tiffs into fcp, but i can't make them all anamorphic and ntsc601. There is no difference between the tiffs and the movie made from the tiffs in any other aspect that i can find besides that one is a .mov and the other is tiffs. Is there a setting in the framing of the video that would cause this? It's like there's just a black bar at on the lower 1/5 of the frame just cutting the video off, unless i move the centering but it still doesn't give me the full frame

ahhh i figured it out! the only difference between the two format settings is the alpha was set to straight on the .mov and none on the tiffs!
