Anamorphic Sequence Brought Into 16:9 Sequence in FCP

I am having a really frustrating time trying to figure this out. I shot a music video on a hacked GH1 with a AG-LA7200, thus allowing me to have beautiful anamorphic footage. So when I began editing I made sure the anamorphic option was checked on each clip and the sequence was set to anamorphic. Then when I was done editing I brought the anamorphic sequence into a normal 16:9 sequence in order to create a letterbox and preserve the aspect ratio when I export it, but unfortunately only some of the anamorphic footage stayed anamorphic and the others conformed to the settings of the new sequence. They were re-squezzed and no longer widescreen. So I was left with various aspect ratios in the project. I realized I should of transfer the footage into the new sequence long ago, because apparently when I import those same clips that did not remain anamorphic into the same timeline it works. It is really odd and frustrating. So I was wondering if there was a simple way of fixing this instead of re-inserting the clips into the sequence and re-color correct them and render them all over again? Please help. Thank you!

Couldn't you export the file from your original sequence, then import that file and put it into a 16:9 sequence?

Yeah that's what I think I'm going to have to do. There seems to be no other way around it, but I just wanted to see if anyone knew of another way to do it. Thanks for the reply.

The suggestion Will had is the best. Otherwise you would have to adjust each one manually. Yet another example of how we all have learn to work around the weirdness in FCP. I don't own FCPX yet but I bet it would work the way you want it too.
