anamorphic quicktime file

On an anamorphic timeline in FCP, I am editing a film we shot in squeeze mode on the DVX100B. It all is working well, i captured all my footage and when i put it on the timeline, it stretches itself out and fills the whole anamorphic window. Very easy to work with and lets me see how it will appear 16x9.

However, if i print a segment that i have edited to a quicktime file, send it to my desktop or whatever, then pull it back into the project on the timeline.. it does NOT fill the whole anamorphic window. It appears squeezed , like the original footage, and only fills a 4X3 area. This happens even when i set the quicktime setting to Anamorphic....

What am i doing wrong? what settings do i use if i want to print a section of edited video to quicktime, then pull it back in and have it fill the whole 16x9 anamorphic window again?

Any help would be appreciated, and i hope im explaining the right..

That does sound a little odd. I just ran a couple of quick tests and didn't have any problem.

Assuming that you're always working in an anamorphic sequence, squeezed footage should automatically fill the 16:9 frame when you bring it back into the project- whether you exported it as a clip already or not.

Maybe you have some more details or maybe someone else will chime in.

if you mean the settings going out of FCP, the the video looks exactly as it should. Anamorphic is squeezed.

You may have to let FCP know when you bring it back in that it is anamorphic not 4:3 ?

check in the browser that the footage is indeed tagged as anamorphic
if not, you can manually put the check mark there by clicking in that column
