Anamorphic option to edit..

I'm watching the Final Cut Pro training DVD...they give ya the option of using Anammorphic NTSC...my question is...do we use this option when using squeeze while shooting?
 
Several cameras shoot 16:9 Anamorphic, like the DVX-100a and 100b. Depends on the camera you use, because some have a 16:9 mode that LETTERBOXES the footage in a 4:3 frame....which is nutty.
 
Yes, when using a "squeeze" mode, capture with 16:9. Squeeze mode is for cameras that are not native 16:9, and fake it by squeezing the picture in. When it's streatched out to 16:9, it looks normal.
