Followed the directions for mounting it several times and nomatter what there appears to be a large amount of slop between the actual lens and the surround framing hood. It has about a 32nd of an inch of slop in one plane even after being framed and tightened down. Is this normal and a acceptable range? The threading to the camera is perfect the slop isnt there. It is in the actual lens asym. I am having some focus problems even still and wondering if this could be the cause. Any ideas would be appreciated. TIA

Hi Tia, the ana lense when screwed down is slightly off. The most important thing is that it attaches square to the lense. You will notice when you turn the screw the final time to tighten it in usually the lense turns slightly anti clockwise. What I do is position the lense so it is a few mm's out in the clockwise direction. When I tighten the screw the last time (watching from the front of the lense) you will see the ana and DVX lense square up.

The lense will work fine as you described.

The ana lense is hard to focus. DO you have Barry Green's book? There are some charts in there that make it relatively simple. When I use mine now, I can slip it on and get good focus in good time. Getting correct focus though even without the ana lense should take time. Of course when Im shooting test stuff I care less, but when its important focusing with the DVX lense, 35mm adapter or ana all takes about same time.
