anamorphic lens is stuck

Just got my snappy new DVX100A with it's also snappy new anamorphic lens. Attached the lens but it didn't seat perfectly and now, though it seems fine while looking through the viewfinder, it won't come off. I can spin it almost in a full cirlce and then it stops in either direction.

It also appears, upon close inspection, that it is not seated perfectly straight.

I am reluctant to put too much pressure on it, obviously in order to get it off.

Thank you for your help.

This can happen, but can be corrected. You need to tighten the set screw on the anamorphic adapter enough so that you can loosen it in relationship to the camera. This may seem contradictory, but if the set screw is loose, then the anamorphic adapters threaded portion is free to rotate in relationship to the threaded portion of the DVX. It may be possible that you have cross threaded the adapter, but the same procedure will be necessary to extract it.

Glad to have been able to help.

Enjoy that anamorphic adapter. It isn't the easiest device to master, but it can really help increase the resolution of your wide shots. Take the time to learn and fully understand the requirements of proper focus and aperture with the adapter and you will be way ahead of a lot of other DVX shooters.
