Anamorphic issues in AE

I'm having a bit of a problem editing anamorphic footage in AE. I've edited in FCP and now I want to export to AE to do some effects. It is shot on a dvx in 24pa squeeze mode and edited in FCP on a 23.98 timeline and all the anamorphic was done correctly in there.

What I need to know is what settings should I use to output out of FCP for use in AE, then after editing there, what settings to use to output for use with FCP.

Can anyone help?

If you've got the disk space do an uncompressed QuickTime (this will be HUGE, be careful). Otherwise you could export as a DV QuickTime. I'm pretty sure since you're in a Widescreen project it'll export a proper widescreen DV QT (with a pixel aspect ratio of 1.2). By default, AE doesn't do pixel aspect ratio correction, so when you're working on it in there it might look a little squished (don't worry). Make sure your AE comp settings are set to NTSC D1/DV Widescreen (1.2) with the 23.98 framerate, and everything should be fine. It's going to do a pulldown that will distribute your 24p over a regular 60i file, but that should all work invisibly.

I would try different export settings on 2-3 sec film (but with motion, because the deinterlace option) and then choose the best and use it to export the entire film
