anamorphic in FCP

Well, I tried the FCP FAQ and the manuals to no avail, so here goes:

When changing a clip to anamorphic 16:9 in FCP, is it possible to slide the image say, for instance, if you wanted more headroom or something to that effect. I tried wireframe/image but only succeeded in moving or zooming the image.

Thanks much.

Yup, just a normal 4:3. I'm actually using some previously shot 4:3 as I practice for "the real thing".

Thanks!

4:3 to 16:9

4:3 to 16:9

If you check on *Anamorphic* on a clip that's shot in 4:3, you can tell it's just
squeezing the video vertically, right? There everything will look squeezed.
Your beautiful tall model will end up looking strange in scale. Instead, you
could put *widescreen* filter under effects->matte folder. Then you will
be able to move the original image up and down as desired in Viewer window.
Once you double click a clip in Timline window, open the filter window in Viewer
window. Then you can play with *Offset* to move the picture up or down.
