anamorphic footage stretches on export?

hopefully some one can help me. I shot some anamorphic footage that I want to export to tape to play on a 4:3 television letterboxed, but when I export the footage stretches out . is there a setting that I am missing some where? I set the capture preset to anamorphic dv ntsc, and the sequence settings to 16x9 . I exported quicktime movie with anamorphic ntsc dv in the export settings. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated as I am in a major bind this tape needs to be sent off tomorrow a.m.
thanks

Re: anamorphic footage stretches on export?

****, wish I'd read this earlier, suprised no one helped. I'm sure this is too late to help, but for future reference.

1/go to sequence presets.
2/ change sequence preset so that anamorphic is off. Make sure this sequence is set as your sequence preset.
3/ Create a new sequence. Open it.
4/ Grab your completed project file from your browser and pull it onto the timeline. You should now have black bars on the top and bottom of the screen and it should be set as anamorphic for 4by3. It'll need to be rendered. note- you have to pull the completed project onto the timeline, copy and paste won't do it.
