Anamorphic Focus Problems WITH Eyepiece?

So of course everyone always mentions how hard it is to focus with the Anamorphic Adaptor...

...but is that just because the image is squeezed, and if so, could you accurately focus with one of the Century Optics "unsqueezer" eyepieces? Is there any reason that, rather than measuring every 5 seconds, I could just purchase an eyepiece and do the zoom-all-the-way-in-and-focus-then-zoom-out method?

No, it's because the anamorphic actually focuses on two different planes at once -- vertical elements on one plane, horizontals on another. As you zoom in you exaggerate the distance between the two, and at wide-open apertures it's actually impossible to focus the anamorphic at full telephoto so the zoom-in-focus-zoom-out wouldn't work.

I see. Thanks Barry. I'm sure this would have been easily solved by your book...

...Unfortunately I just lost the book in the process of moving from one apartment to another...may I ask what the cheapest way to get a replacement would be if I can't find it post-move?

Nevermind. Turns out I left it at the mechanics' when I was getting my car fixed. Crisis averted.
