Doy you think I need any other hardware in order to get the best from it? will I be able to focus and frame the image (compressed image) properly without anything else?
Century sells an adaptor to viewing the LCD monitor...
We at Century Optics also have a anamorphic eyepiece adapter, that attaches on the back, where the rubber cup is. It is now much lighter than the original.
Checking focus on the biggest monitor you can find also helps. Check out old posts on this.

It's possible to survive on the adapter alone. On my latest project I used the 16:9 adapter on the DVX and used a 9" field monitor to check focus. As I got more comfortable with the adapter I found myself able to focus more easily than before with just the viewfinder. For some shoots I would go without the monitor altogether (for sake of speed usually). So, while ideally you'd have all the other stuff to go with it, on a tight budget and with extra care you can get by without everything.
Another use for the external monitor was to check 16:9 framing since the DVX only shows a squeezed image 4:3. That is more of a luxury, as after a few shoots you get used to framing it squished. I didn't even know an eyepiece adapter existed until I read Ken's post above. That would be a nice accessory to have.
I've seen one of your trailers, Owen and I like it very much.
It's said that one can't work well under low ligth and the anamorphic adapter (we have to set a high f number) but after watching your trailer I can see you've achieved some great low light footage...
And what about DOF? were you concerned about getting a swallow DOF? (They say it's hard to get a swallow DOF)
