anamorphic adapter

I need a little help. I just got the anamorphic adapter and I am unsure what settings to use in camera. if I just keep it 4:3 when I capture in premiere 2.0 16:9 project its got the bars on the side if I use squeeze it doesn't. am I supposed to use squeeze with the adapter? does squeeze make the aspect 16:9 and the adapter unsqueeze it?
 
The anamorphic adapter squeezes 16:9 footage onto your 4:3 CCD. You unsqueeze this in post.
 
that's the problem though I use 4:3 but when I do a 16:9 project I get the black bars on sides how would I unsqueeze this footage in post?
 
I shot footage in normal 4:3 mode with adapter on captured in premiere pro 2.0 in a 16:9 project setting and right clicked on footage in timeline and did the interprite footage and it un-squeezed it.
 
sorry let me elaborate.....i right clicked on footage in project pane not timeline..clicked interpret footage...under pixel aspect ratio clicked conform to: and selected d1/dv ntsc widescreen 16:9 (1.2) and hit OK and it unsqueezed to fit voila!
