Analog vs. LCD televisions

Hey guys,
Just curious...why does an LCD television appear like LESS quality to me than your standard analog sets? I realize they are supposed to have more resolution, as in your basic computer monitor, but the picture on the analog televisions seem far more crisp. Any word on this? I'm not too familiar with the HD or plasma televisions and their apparent quality. Plus, I was told to never color correct on an LCD. Any opinions? Best- Mike

Re: Analog vs. LCD televisions

The reason you never color correct on an LCD is because when you look at it from different angles, the bightness, contrast, and colors will change. If you have one, do this, take a still from some footage and import it into photoshop. Color correct it perfectly, than, move your head up or down and look at your image, it will be off. There is no telling how your colors will ACTUALLY turn out unless using an analog monitor.

Hope that helps!

There are some flat panel monitors that don't do that though...

I don't believe they're traditional LCD though. I think they're something different...
