an EASY question to answer

Used time remap on a section of footage, but I actually want to slow down the audio as well and make it sound really warped. Any idea how to do this? Time remap leaves the audio intact.

Thanks

Re: an EASY question to answer

Hmm. You need to take the pitch of the audio down. Some sort of harmonizer plugin, or pitch correction plugin should do what you want it to.

Digital audio doesn't experience the lowered pitch that analog does when you slow it down. Since digital audio is just a series of samples of sound, it just plays the samples slower, causing no change in pitch.

This is why your time remap didn't lower the pitch of your audio. You should be able to lower the pitch of the sound using a plug in, or with an external sound editor. Since I haven't actually done this myself, I can't really give a good idea of how many steps down you should take it. You could start with an octave down and play with it from there.

Sorry I can't be of more help, but I don't have an FCP around to check.

Re: an EASY question to answer

If you change the "Speed" of the clip without time remapping, cmd+J, your audio will be slowed down.

Re: an EASY question to answer

The command+J is the answer I was looking for I think. Don't want to lower pitch so much as keep the audio track in time with the slow down.

Thanks guys
