American Express Commercial Location

Hey everyone,

So I was asked by someone about an American Express commercial (because we got into a conversation about commercials) and they asked me about this commercial from like 25 years ago. He really wants to know the name if the hotel they used for the location, so here is some info:

It's an American Express commercial from a long time ago (like 25 years, which is older than me). It starts as a business couple (man and woman meet at airport, both in business attire with suitcases that's obviously filled with business clothes, and we know they got back from some business trip where they were apart) meet at the airport, they hug and kiss or whatever. We then see them go together on a flight to the Caribbean. They buy beach clothes and stuff (with an American Express card, obviously), then at the end of the commercial, they both wake up on a balcony overlooking a bay in the Caribbean. My friend wants to know the name of the hotel they used for that ending shot

He believes he saw the same hotel on a TV show a couple of years ago. He thinks its the Carl Gustaf Hotel in St. Barthelemy.

Sorry I don't have any more details (or videos). If any of you have any ideas about the hotel or even the island, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Could be, if I'm remembering the right ad.

I think Bernie Mac riffed on that ad, while he was doing standup...

You know that American Express ad with the couple on the beach, and the Temptations playing in the background, 'My Girl?' And the man decides that, sure, they can stay an extra week and just put it on the card?

Yeah, well, what they don't show is when the bill comes in the mail, three weeks later. Smokey Robinson: 'Tears of a Clown.'"
