American Cinematographer subscription options

Hey guys,

who here subscribes to American Cinematographer?

I'm just curious about the options.

With the digital subscription you get access to back issues.

But with a print subscription is says you get access to digital issues as well, so does that include the back catalog like the digital subscription does, or just the issues you get as they come?

I really want to subscribe, I know I'm missing a lot.

just trying to figure out the best way to do it. I love having a magazine, but definitely want access to back catalogs?

Back issues are only for the last 5 years or so, from what I remember. Nothing more.

I am a die hard print guy. I don't usually read the digital issues, but I do believe they are available to me.

Either way, I highly recommend the magazine!

I have the digital subscription.. I like that option because I can go back and save all of the old issues as pdf files and then search inside them!

If you go for the digital and don't mind, let me know how it is. The online demo of it looks pretty bad, but if the download is nice I'd consider getting it.

I think I'm going to go with the 3 year(and 1 free) subscription to print for 89.00.

That way I get access to both, and I'm hoping the back catalog to the extent they have online.

Ryan, I remember seeing your threads with the 1920's issue! That's awesome, I like print too and getting the digital access free is just gravy on top of that.

i have the print subscription and have for a very long time. I still have a few issues I got as a kid back in the '70s. I am a die hard print guy also, I do check out the digital issue every now and again. I have been putting off down loading and archiving the digital back issues but I want to get around to that. RPO's collection makes me jealous. I will continue to get the print version as long as they offer it.

Funny, I can only remember to read it now that I have the digital subscription and really love that. If you have an iphone or ipad you can load it into your newsrack and access it through there. If I get bored on set, or on the train or something, it's a great thing to always have around.

I went the digital subscription route to get more use out of my iPad (which I bought as a teleprompter), I love print magazines (heck I used to work in magazine publishing) but if you've got a tablet, magazines (as a medium) transfer really well to tablet viewing IMO.

If you don't have a tablet and would be reading on your computer, then I'd just get the print edition.
