Ambient Recording P48 Electret Converter for Micron Wireless Microphones Problem

So I ordered two of these VERY PRICEY units from my local supplier, total cost with our taxes just a buck or two short of $400.00. I waited a month and a half for them to get here and when I picked them up and tried them they did not work. Advice other than "return them: which I will do if I am sure it is not me messing up. So here is the story:

I have four microphones (lavs) two Trams and two Sennheisers, none are new but all work flawlessly with the only TR79 for Micron (Old Big 8pin Lemo) power supply I have left. I still use one of the old Microns and it works well despite its bulk with nice quality sound for some things. So rather than rewiire all 4 microphones with new 3.5mm Sennheiser plugs or some other configuration I decided to leave the Lemo 8pins on and use the TR79, try to find someone to fix the other one I have that is broken and use two of the EMP8L Ambient adapters to improve my usable mic inventory.

My guess is that the EMP8L is setup for negative bias other wise they should work and I can't for the life of me figure why they would do that. With positive you can use either phantom or a battery powered supply. With negative you are stuck with phantom and my mixer does not output negative just 48+.

So I know the guys at the supplier are going to be pissed to have to return these but if there is not other reason that these mics won't work they they have to go back. I know the mics work btw.. I tested them with the working TR79.

Thanks for any advice!

I know this won't help much but it has nothing to do with the Phantom Pwr. itself, it's a wiring issue in the PP adapter / battery module.

Thanks I realize that but there is no option on the adapter to alter the bias from neg to pos. the only way I could think of would be to do it with a couple of XLR connectors and flip the wiring there but that is a pain in the butt and especially at $200 bucks an adapter. But thanks for the response and it helps me down the road to confirm I am probably right.

Changing the polarity in the XLR won't do anything... except put the mic that's connected to it out of phase with others.. assuming they're wired correctly.
Contact Trew Audio in Toronto, (or in the US) they likely have a tech there who can offer some options, answers and probably any advise would be free. Glen and the folks at Trew would not try to sell you stuff you don't need or can't use.

They suggested these adapters in the first place and I sourced them through Studio Economik in Montreal because it is easier for me to deal locally. The Trm sight suggest using a polarity change with an xlr as well but you are right that would cause issues. I will call Trew Toronto on monday thanks.

Thanks all for your replies and support. I wrote Ambient in Germany and their engineer wrote back with what he thought might be the issue. The short answer has been that these emuls are not just plug and play. Though the ones I bought are listed as being exactly for my lemo connector and micron wiring they are not. They have informed me that if compatible with my gear they will need jumper wire. Though it is not indicated on their site they also do not work with negative bias microphones. So what was to be a simple yet somewhat expensive answer was not.
