Ambient ALL601 and ACL203

Dear All,

After a lot of researches, I found out a way to record the TC to my HVX200 from a Sound Device 702T, in short, jamming the TC from 702 to a sync box, and then recording the TC to a HVX200 audio channel.

Then I am planning to buy an Ambient sync box, ACL203:

But right before I place my order, a representative suggested me to get ALL601:
http://www.ambient.de/produkte/timecode/lanclogger/lanclogger_e.html

I am confused.

First, what is the main difference between these two products?
Second, what would you suggestion from your experience or knowledge, as I am really ignorant about this aspect?

Thank you very much.

I got the answer directly from Ambient, and it is his reply:

The main difference between the ACL and the ALL is that the ACL generates time code and video sync signal locked together and can sync professional cameras. It can also produce word clock or AES-3 black audio to sync professional audio recorders.
The ALL601 also produces time code, but no sync signal (which the HVX200 can not receive anyway and is only of use when making long recordings in one take with multiple cameras, such as filming a concert). But the ALL has a lot more functions:
- it can write a log file of record starts and stops of tape time against free run TC, reading the TC from LANC (Sony and Canon only) or LTC of professional cameras.
- it can convert various time code formats, such as MTC (Midi TC) to LTC, Lanc-TC to LTC /MTC or LTC to LTC with an offset. Also, it has a display.
- the ALL601 has a list price of 640 Euro, the ACL203 a list price of 780 Euro, and the ALL is lighter and smaller than the ACL.

So, if you are using Panasonic camera, the log won't have the camera TC next to the TC generated by ALL.

Thanks.
