Amazon order says "Delivered" but I never got it, is it worth fighting over it?

I ordered a thumb drive from Amazon, and the UPS tracking shows "Delivered, left at side door". I was home when they supposedly delivered it and checked out the side door almost hourly, but I never got the package. I checked on the Amazon site help and they say to call the carrier, UPS. I have called UPS and they said to call Amazon. What is the chance anything being done about this? I doubt very little, anybody else had this happen and got a resolution?

Try the live chat on Amazon, i've always being able to get help there very fast and they usually solve any problems with my orders amazingly quick.
They will probably return your money or send you another copy of the product right away if you chat with them.

I'm sorry to say I've found Amazon's resolution process little better than useless. I don't doubt some vendors exploit that fact. If Amazon and UPS continue to give you the runaround, on the basis that you didn't sign for a delivery that required it, seems reasonable that you instruct your credit card company to withhold payment.

Wow, the chat worked and they are sending me a replacement. That live chat is kind of a chore to get to though.. with a lot of list searching, button pushing and drop down selecting, but it worked. Thanks.

I was going to say, this happened to me once when I ordered two 3TB hard drives from amazon. I order A LOT from amazon so its hard to keep track of everything sometimes. I noticed the hard drives never came and checked the status which said delivered. I live in an apt building and checked the usual spots that fedex, usps and ups leave packages (i.e. by the mailboxes, by my front door.) After talking to a representative they very willingly sent me two new 3TB drives. A couple of months later I went outside onto my porch (i'm on the second floor) which I seldom use. I opened the door and voila, there are a bunch of packages left by amazon's delivery service that I never realized I didn't receive (some SD cards, canon lp-e6s) as well as the hard drives that I thought never came. All the packages were warped from the rain and there were some bugs in them but fortunately everything worked. Amazon's customer service has been great in my experiences but I think its pretty crazy that their delivery people think it's normal to throw packages from the ground level onto 2nd floor porches.

Glad it worked out. Yeah it's pretty hidden but i now go straight to it whenever i've had problems, i've always had good experiences with their customer service.

Amazon has been amazing. Last Christmas about $900 worth of shipments (all in the same day) were stolen from my driveway (hidden behind a garbage can by UPS). I filed a police report after confirming they were delivered. I contacted Amazon and they REFUNDED all of the money for the items, which I turned around and re-spend and received the items a day before Christmas.

I've never ordered from anywhere that was that considerate to their customers.

Amazon have always replaced items that were lost in post to me (international post). Very good customer service.

Glad they resolved your issue.

I've had nothing but great experiences with Amazon service. This isn't the same type of issue but it speaks volumes to its customer service IMO. A few years ago, I bought an HVX200 from Amazon. After I realized my stupidity about 3 weeks later -- that I used all my budgeted money on a camera and didn't have any lights!, I filled out an RMA request just to see if Amazon would take it back, expecting that I would have to pay a restocking fee...if they even agreed to take it back. Not only did they take it back, there were no questions and no restocking fee. So I bought an HMC150 from Amazon the day my refund was processed and then bought a light kit from B&H using the remainder of my funds.

Amazon isn't perfect. But it's head and shoulders above most other etailers and retailers. And to think about the grand scale to which it does this is simply amazing!

I have always had excellent service from Amazon, even concerning the return of faulty goods. I'm surprised some people are having difficulties.

It shouldn't come as any surprise that in an organization with Amazon's turnover there is the occasional customer who is disappointed by the company's post sales service.

In my circumstance, I bought and paid for a backpack blower that wasn't delivered. What was delivered was a much cheaper handheld job that I could have bought locally for less money. Amazon was only interested in referring me to the supplier, who never replied to emails and whose phone contact was only through a voice message service that never returned calls. I was so given the run around I eventually sucked it up and kept the blower they delivered. It's encouraging that others aren't reporting the same experience but it's nevertheless left me wary of sourcing anything other than very inexpensive purchases through Amazon.

That's weird, i've had Amazon told me to talk to the supplier a few times, and when they (the supplier/seller) have not responded, Amazon has always returned me the money or sent a replacement.
