Amazon an auth reseller?

Hey all, my name is Ben Smerglia and I'm brand new to the forums. I've had a lot of hands-on with the DVX100 and 100A from producing a sitcom that aired on South Carolina Public Access and working on a short film at the New York Film Academy called "Soft Spot" (which, if you're interested, can be dl'd from my website: http://smerglia88.tripod.com)

Now everytime I use this camera it's either my high school's or NYFA's and I'm finally looking at owning my own. I was fighting whether I should get the A or B, but because the A has a $500 rebate and alot more accessories, that's probably what I'm going to get.

My question is, is Amazon.com an authorized Panasonic reseller or do they get their cameras from one? Amazon I can trust and their price is slightly better than B&H. I'm thinking of purchasing the DVX nearer the holidays (the rebate should still be around, right?)

Thank you all,

Amazon doesn't really sell cameras. At least I've never come across one that wasn't just another seller using Amazon as a host type thing.

List?

List?

Is there any way I can get a list of authorized online resellers? Does that mean I would not qualify for the rebate if I purchased from Amazon.com?

Maybe. If they send you a gray-market version then no, you would not qualify for the rebate, nor would you get a warranty, nor would you get the included freebies (DVX Book/DVD and Magic Bullet Editors software). If they perhaps had some actual legit US units in stock, then yes you'd qualify for all that stuff.

It's up to you to decide whether the risk is worth it.
