that was the second jeep ive had, the first one was a 97 black tj...but i had to total that TJ. a drunk driver slamed into me while i was making a left turn...and it was MY FAULT. even though the guywas doing like 60mph on a city street!

I crashed a few days ago. Some lady stopped right in the middle of the highway where there is a split in the road and a cab jammed his breaks on and skidded. I changed lanes but his tail end skidded into my lane and i had no where to go because there was a wall on the right. :(

i was driving home at night from san diego last may when this black corvette and another white vehicle raced passed my odyssey.  i was driving about 70mph and had my wife and 3 kids w/ me.  as soon as they passed by, i immediately slowed down then a few seconds later, the black corvette tried to cut another car off and went out of control, crashed into the wall and swerved into the middle lane.  i immediately called 911 and told them i witnessed an accident and someone may have needed help.  the next day the sherriff called me and asked what i witnessed.  i told him that 2 cars were racing and one tried to pass up another and went out of control.  the sherriff had said the driver of the corvette had said he just fell asleep on the wheel...i told him bullsh*t  they were driving eratically...they didn't find the white vehicle but right now they are trying to prosecute the driver of the corvette.  trial has been delayed for 2 months so i am just waiting for another court date to testify against the defendant.  this vid reminds me of that night...wish they caught the other driver...

That is stupid. One time my wife and were driving home and two idiots were going at 100mph, they passed us on the shoulder. Now there was no other traffic on the highway, 2 lanes, they could have used the other lane but for some idiotic reason they used the shoulder. My wife was driving........if I had been driving, I would swerved like I was going to cut them off and run them in the ditch and leave them. I don't put up with that stuff.

The same with drunk drivers. I think it should be law if you are caught driving drunk, they should charge you with attempted murder. If there is an accident and someone dies because you were driving drunk, they should charge them with First Degree Murder and give them the same punishment as murderers.

Totally.  And you know what?  From the mouths of parents.  These damn kids dont know what it means to be responsible for another persons welfare.  All I think about is protecting by son.  Its encouraging to hear other dads.

When I was younger (PRE MARRIAGE AND CHILD) and had driven like this on more than a few occasions. (I commuted from SAN PEDRO to SAN DIEGO while in the COAST GUARD). I kick myself and shake my head that I did this. I recognized I was an idiot before I even had the child. I could have died and surely could have killed someone else. Id hit 114 through Camp Pendleton at nighttime.

Im not defending these kids in no way. I did it. Hopefully theyll 'mature' before they screw up. BUt I know having children will do all sorts of 'growing' in the head.

Not to take anything from fatherhood, but you don't have to be a dad to value life. I can only imagine what motivates someone to be so wreckless - the fact the asshole recorded it might say something.

glassblowerscat, it's one thing to film a chase scene like that were everyone involved knows the risks they are taking, another all together when they don't. Oddly enough, I'm a little mad at myself for having viewed it. If they think for a moment that this video has generated any discussion - that would probably be enough to motivate them to do more...

Btw - If you spot an a-hole in the road you can dial up 911 and give them a description. My friend did this with a jerk that was tailgating, swerving, passing on the median... They kept her on the line for a bit while they had a police cruiser heading over. The a-hole managed to blow a red light just as a the cruiser showed up. The 911 operator was very appreciative.

i didnt know you can dial 911 for that?! i guess its better to do that then to wait for them to jack some people up. hmm...im going to remember this.

a friend of mine used to keep a bucket of rocks in the cab of his truck for the tailgaters. all he had to do was hold his hand out the widow with a handfull of rocks and the aholes would back off.

Yeah, I think there's a specific number you can dial on your cell phone just for reporting a dangerous or aggressive driver. But, I know that my friend used 911.

When you call you should have:

  • Location
  • Street/road and direction (southbound, etc)
  • Description of driver
  • Description of car (color, etc), make, license plate number

..if my wife or daughter were to get hurt from someone acting like that i dont know what i would do...

theres of course nothing wrong with having a nice fast car.. but not having the brains to know when and where to use it responsibly is somthing i can find plenty of fault in. espescially when the lives of many other people are being gambled with. .. i really dont understand how alot of young criminal people doing this or other juvenile things think they are being cool when everybody hates them. as jackie chan says in "rumble in the bronx"... "...Dont you realize you are the scum of society?! "
