Alvin & The Chipmunks 2: The Squeakuel

Great review.

I had to sit through this over the holidays with my six year old daughter. She really enjoyed the first one. This one was just bad all over. The first one wasn't much better but it wasn't as terrible as the squeakuel.

Ugh....

This one was especially painful after having seen Fantastic Mr. Fox and seeing what a family film COULD be.

Well considering there's going to be 10 nomination slots this year for Best Picture I don't see why not...There were barely 10 movies released this year even worth going to see.

Wait…what?!?

I thought this was a very, very good year for movies. Here are 10 off the top of my head…

Avatar
Fantastic Mr. Fox
Up In The Air
Coraline
The Hangover
Up
Star Trek
Inglorious Basterds
District 9
Zombieland
Paul Blart: Mall Cop

(Okay, 11.)

Oh, and the irony that we're discussing that 2009 was a good year for films in this particular thread is not lost on me. :D

To put to rest the notion that boxoffice receipts in any way reflect the quality of a movie, I present the fact that, as of today, Alvin & The Chipmunks: The Squeakuel has grossed 356 million dollars worldwide. That's more than any film ever made by Martin Scorsese.

I got to meet the cast:
