aluminum or CF tripod?

I know CF is a little lighter, but I move my stuff on a cart anyway, so a pound more or less doesn't make much diff. Is it still worth the premium? And is it much more prone to unfixable damage than alum.? (I imagine a dent in alum can be pressed or hammered out, but not CF.)

CF is supposed to be much more rigid especially on torsional strains.
Therefore, a CF tripod should reduce the risk of wind buffeting and camera shake. In fact, from experience I learnt that the design of the tripod is just as important as the building material to improve rigidity. The use of CF won't make any good on a badly designed set of legs.
