Alternatives for Oktava MK012

Hi Guys,

I allready posted a message like this in the Cafe, but i figured this was more an Audio question.
I am going to India tomorrow for a three week trip. And i have a little problem getting my audio thing right. I know Oktava is probably the best choice for me, however, I am leaving tomorrow, and there aren't any for sale near me. I have searched and the only mics I can find that are a bit like the oktava are the following:
Shure PG81
AKG C1000
Rode NT 5 S
Behringer B5
Superlux CM H 8 K/U

It would be great if you guys can tell me if these things are any good and which will have the best resell value, because I am probably going to sell it after my trip to India.

Thanks

Fredric

try local profesional sound houses like noise boys - they could manage you better option , all the mics you choose mostly work for music recording , beside that you need suspension , wind protection , boom and cables

If I were in your situation I would start calling local sound professionals and try to buy (or rent depending on how long you need it) a used mic off of them for the same price as a new one.

And as Oleg said, don't forget all the extras you will need or the mic is useless.

Good luck

Along with seconding (thirding?) the above I would forget about the C1000. It changes the sound in ways that would not be great for FX recording, thins it out and has a slow transient response so it smoothes things out that you often don't want smoothed out. We use it in the Foley room when we need to soften an effect, like softening the grit on footsteps or making a male Foley artists FS more ladylike. The others I don't know well enough but the last two I would be very skeptical of.
