Alright kids; get your butts in shape !

OK! I HAVE A HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT TO MAKE! For the last TWO weeks I have excercised CONSISTANTLY EVERY NIGHT!!!! I have been riding the bike 5 miles each night! I feel so much better, and sleep better every night. I have more energy, and am not always tired... I also feel a little skinnier (though that might just be mental) anyway, I am so excited!

OK. Question for anyone who might know. Is there any chance a lactose-intolerant person would have trouble because of the lactic acid muscles throw out during exercise?

Good for you John! When I graduated high school, I had a resting pulse of 49. ran a 5 minute mile, and had almost a 40" vertical. Now, going on ten years later and 8-9 years of smoking, I feel like ****. I didn't gain weight though, I lost it. I used to love it. I would go to school, go to whatever extracurricular practice, go to martial arts practice, and then go play basketball until the sun went down, and sometimes after that, go to the gym on the base and play basketball with all the guys ten years older than me. Now, I feel like ****. I don't know what has changed in my brain, but I just haven't been able to get up that motivation to make the lifestyle change and reclaim a part of that youth. It almost feels like those memories are someone elses memories, from their story that they told me.
I'm happy for you man, keep it goingggggg!

I believe those are 2 different problems.

The lactic acid production isn't a problem, as far as I know. It's just what muscles do when they are stressed.

I'm just wonderin' 'cause a good workout has exactly the same effect on me as eating pizza/ice cream/milk does. Not pleasant. (And it has always been that way...not just a case of hitting the gym after a long period of not.)

Too think in June I'll have quit smoking an entire year!

I just quit. As in, I just quit a few days ago. I'm starting to smell things again, and I kinda don't like it. Wish I could quit smoking and still not have my smeller work, maybe the only thing that I kinda liked about smoking. Then again, I am using the lozenge, which does give you NASTY gas, so maybe that's the problem really.
