Almost Human

I have an interesting theory...

Dorian is called "Dorian" because his model number is "DRN".

Soooo.....

John's last name is 'Kennex'. What if that is really a model number -- "KNX"?

Think about it. John has no family. No friends. Little or no reference to his past.

Maybe the leg isn't his only robotic part. Maybe he's the prototype -- the first attempt at putting a human mind and soul into a robotic body. And even he doesn't know he's a robot.

Wouldn't that be an interesting plot twist? :-)

This show already steals so much from Ridley Scott's "BladeRunner", so why not take that plot twist too.

( the Director's cut of "BladeRunner" reveals that Deckard (Harrison Ford) is a replicant in two scenes, first during the interrogation of Rachel you can see the amber glow in Deckard's replicant eyes, and second when Gaff places the tiny tinfoil unicorn on the floor, indicating that he knows about the unicorn Deckard has been dreaming about )

Well tonight we learned they have the ability to implant memories into a robot. We already knew they could erase specific memories from a human.

And in last week's episode, Dorian said something to Kennex that was curious -- "It's my job to know about you." Really? Since when? And why? Unless Dorian is really monitoring Kennex, rather than the other way around.

Hadn't heard of the show before seeing this thread. Had to check it on IMDb and saw that Brad Anderson has directed two episodes. Anderson directed one of my all time favourite movies, The Machinist. Now I'm interested.

And as added trivia some of the opening sequence was done by Andrew Kramer in After Effects with Element.

Okay, in the previews for next week's season finale, we learned that Kennex's father was guilty of stealing robot parts, and then he died.

Maybe Kennex's father needed to build a robot body to resurrect his dead son -- John Kennex. :-)
