Allow me to introduce myself

Hi All,

I've been a lurker on these forums for quite some time. I'm a director and editor working (when there's work) in Canada. With the way broadcast budgets are going I'm being asked more and more to either shoot second cam or even small main cam on low budget documentary projects because the producers want to save money rather than hire a proper DOP. I preffered the old days! I'm now in the market for an affordable DSLR or CSC that will give me both high quality "broadcastable" video and high quality stills. My head spins with all the possibilities: GH3-GH2, 6D, D600, D5200, D7100, 5Dmkii, 7D, 60D, M43-APS-C-FF ????... I've shot with the 7D & 5D and loved the look but hated the focussing and audio functions for fast paced documentary work. I'd love to get some feedback that'll allow me to finally make the right choice. Please point me in the right direction (or at least the right forum)....

Thanks and Hello!

Ari,

Welcome! Always nice to see a fellow Canadian on the forum. Feel free to shoot me a PM if you'd like to chat further about your camera choices or head on over to the different camera sub-sections...lots of information and comparisons there!
