I dont even know how in the hell you can shoot 24PN at 60i, I always use default 24PA, thanks guys

If you're talking conventional DVD then the 1080 line modes
would be a waste and greatly reduce your recording time
on the P2 card.

If you're shooting 24Panything, there isn't any 60anything in there.

Unless you're really bad at math.

Who's saying this stuff to you?

Overcranking and undercranking are all artistic choice. They have to do with playback speed -- slomo, faster motion. If you want slomo, you overcrank. If you want to speed things up from reality, you undercrank.

The easiest thing to do with Vegas and Raylight if all you want is straight 24p is shoot 720pN, 24p, default frame rate. There is no pulldown, no 24pA. :)

and what about the timeline in vegas? normal 23.97 p timeline in vegas? I thought it was much more convinient to shoot 24PA in the hvx because of the pulldown in vegas

You only ever need pulldown in order to put 24p into a 60i stream. If you can avoid it, like you can with 24pN mode, then do it. No reason to deal with it if you don't have to.

You should edit on a 23.976 progressive timeline, yes. Native dimensions of the footage are 1280x720, 1.000 pixel.
