all good in preview monitor - really dark after rendered out

Hi everyone,
it's frustrating: we made the final cut of our short film (HDV) and graded it with Color. We do have a nice HD-preview monitor, using a Matrox MXO. Everything looks fine.

No we send the video to Compressor, but in the preview window everything comes out really dark. Same effect when rendering a quicktime movie. It just looks much saturnine than the original.

Does anyone know why?

one of your monitors is not calibrated correctly. it's either your computer monitor or you're preview monitor. i would re calibrate both and then see what it looks like and go from there.

the preview monitor is calibrated correctly. But the final image is too dark on every computer monitor.

Maybe it's a GAMMA issue? We work on a MAC and set the GAMMA to 2.2. Any other ideas?
