Alien remake/prequel (but not) Prometheus

[Brian_Rice]

News just came out of comic-con that Ridley Scott's Alien prequel (which was going to be a remake but then became a prequel) is now moving towards being an original story. Right now they're not willing to state 100& that Prometheus doesn't take place in the Alien universe, but they certainly sound as if they're leaning in that direction.

It sounds like they're primarily concerned with sequels and so are concerned about having Prometheus end where Alien begins. The producer basically said that if Prometheus had a sequel it wouldn't be Alien.

Cameron nailed the Alien world.

Scott is God when it comes to the alien world. ALIENS is a great action flick but ALIEN is just amazing all around.Love them both though. Not sure about Prometheus. I was hoping for a 100% prequel.

Yeah, I prefer Alien to Aliens. I can't say I like most of Scott's films, though, especially lately.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Fassbender does in Prometheus since I greatly enjoyed him in Inglorious and X-Men. Not sure about the movie as a whole yet though.

I've always preferred Aliens to Alien. I find it scarier and more thrilling than the original.

"Game over, man! Game over!"

I prefer Alien to Aliens.

Sorry what was that? I don't speak Greek.

So, anyway... I'm guessing that Prometheus is about the Space Jockey, which would put it in the same universe, but wouldn't involve any of the characters from the existing franchise, as the Jockey is dead long before the Nostromo arrives on LV-426.
