Aladdin Bi-Flex M7

Looks good. I just picked up the Fomex FL1200 2x1 panel, and it's 120w and super impressive. Great colour, and the output's as strong as an Area48!

I have been waiting on Aladdin to come out with new stuff.... a 1x1 or preferably bigger flexible panel (with v mount power option) is likely the next thing I will buy to add to my kit. ^ And that's the first I've heard of Fomex... looks good as well but possibly not available in the US ?

The Aladdins, Westcotts and Fomexs all look pretty identical to me. I went for the Fomex because of the high TLCI and the fact that its 120w panel puts out appreciably more light than the 100w ones from Westcott and Aladdin.

But I just used a few flexible LEDs on a web series (they were the far cheaper, Nanguang units) and they were tremendously useful. Being able to rig them wherever you need them, and being able to do so with nothing more than gaffer tape, is a real game changer.

The colour from them is quite good too. Not great like the Fomex or the Aladdins, but serviceable for the price. The only real issue is build quality, and we had some issues stemming from that, also the lack of any indication of what your colour temperature setting proved a little problematic.

The Nanguang units are more flexible than the other ones, because they have about half the density of diodes (you get 40w worth spread across a 2x1 panel), however, I also wanted more intensity from a smaller footprint, which was another point that sent me to the Fomex unit instead.

Agreed on the game changer aspect - especially when able to use battery power. And I'll gladly wait & pay more for something that feels like it might last a long, long time rather than skimp now and likely pay again later. And being bi-color and knowing where you are in that 32 - 56k range is also a must for me.

Im looking into getting a 2x1 panel and had my eyes on the aladdin. Will look into fomex aswell, thank you for the info Grug!

Yeah thanks for the feedback!

BTW do you know if you can use 2 extension cables with Aladdin Bi-Flex 1 or M7 units?

To have 10m (5+5) of cable run from controller to LED head.

Anyone??

Thanks!
