AKG SE300B - exterior sound

I'm going to buy the SE300B and CK93 module. I'm wondering if I can use this combo for exterior sound. How does the CK93 compare to the CK98? Are there any sound files I can download to compare the two in exterior situations? I'd like to avoid spending the extra $$ on the CK98 if at all possible, so I'd like to hear your recommendations. If I can get away with the CK93 for exterior sound, which size k-zepp will fit the CK93? Thanks much.
 
Just got that combination myself and I can confirm that it is a definite step above the Octava. As far as using it outside, why not?. Others here have done so successfully under close and controlled situations. I have used my Octava outside in certain circumstances with good results and I plan on doing so with the AKG when appropriate. As far as the CK98 goes, bear in mind that the 93 is a hyper and 98 a shotgun. Others with experience have stated that the cost/performance factor of the 98 is not economically worth while so you might want to consider another shotgun for nearly the same money such as the AT4073a which is a fantastic performer for the money.

get it real close to the source and it will be decent in quiet locations. after using mine outdoors though i feel the need to step up to a shotgun for exteriors especially in more noisy areas like on the street etc..
 
I appreciate the feedback guys. It does sound like I'd be better off getting the AT4073a in addition to the AKG hyper. It just hurts to spend an additional $700-$800 bucks when my indy budget is already stretched. Guess I'll have to start saving. Thanks.
