AJA io Express/FCP

I've got a 24" iMac and need to reference video output while editing in FCP. Will the AJA ioExpress interface with the iMac? I know it can work with a laptop using an express card (whatever that is).

Will the express card work with a usb port on the iMac? What hoops must I jump through to get video out of the iMac?

No. You need something like the Io HD or a MOTU V4HD to plug into a FW800 port. If you can find one, you might also be able to use the original MXO from Matrox to plug into a DVI port.

You are stuck with an iMac. No options for capture cards...until the Thunderbolt enabled ones are released. But then again, you'd still have to buy another computer.
